TELUS BECOMES OFFICIAL SIGNATURE PARTNER OF THE 2023 GREY CUP FESTIVAL

HAMILTON, (Oct. 31) - The 2023 Grey Cup Festival proudly announced TELUS as a key partner for this year's event, including their role as the presenting sponsor of the TELUS Kick for Good Courtyard, a part of Fan Central located on James St., adjacent to the John Weir Foote Armoury. Running from November 16-18, the TELUS Kick for Good Courtyard will offer opportunities for fans of all ages to showcase their skills by kicking field goals, with a chance to win exciting prizes and giveaways, including the limited edition 110th Grey Cup Scarf. Each successful field goal kicked will trigger a donation to a local charity supported by the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation, aimed at helping youth across Canada reach their full potential. This year marks the first Grey Cup festival in Hamilton since 1996 and will feature over 40 events in the downtown area, promising to captivate football fans, music enthusiasts, families, and newcomers to football.
“TELUS has always been a staunch supporter of Canadian football, particularly in Hamilton,” stated Gerry Fonzo, General Manager of the 2023 Grey Cup Festival. “In addition to warmly welcoming TELUS as a signature partner for the 2023 Grey Cup Festival, we are most enthusiastic about our shared dedication to building stronger, healthier communities and assisting those in need of our support.”
Throughout the 2023 CFL season, fans actively participated in the TELUS Kick for Good campaign; for every successful field goal made, TELUS donated to the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation, raising over $50,000 in support of youth programs across the nation, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton and Hamilton and the Learning Disabilities Association of Halton-Hamilton.
“At TELUS, we are driven by the belief that good business and doing good go hand-in-hand. Through our enduring partnership with the CFL and Grey Cup, we are thrilled to harness the power of sports to achieve this, connecting fans to the game they love while also giving back to our local communities, including the Hamilton area,” said Jill Schnarr, Chief Social Innovation, Communications & Brand Officer at TELUS.
On Grey Cup Sunday, the winner of TELUS’ CFL regular season contest will receive the exclusive opportunity to Kick for Good on the field during the Grey Cup game, directing a $5,000 donation from TELUS to a charity of their choice and winning a Google Pixel 7 Pro smartphone. Furthermore, every time a field goal is made by either team, TELUS will continue to donate, up to $50,000 to the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation, further enhancing their shared commitment to creating a friendly future and supporting youth and local communities across Canada.
