HAMILTON (Oct.19) - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the 2023 Grey Cup Festival announced GRAMMY© - nominated superstar Brian Kelley will be opening for Carrie Underwood on the Friday night of the Built in the Hammer Grey Cup Music Festival.

Marking his debut performance in Hamilton, Kelley is now in the next chapter of his history-making career with new releases on Big Machine Records, including current chart-rising single “See You Next Summer” and homegrown follow-up “Dirt Cheap.” The DIAMOND-selling superstar first made waves with his passion project SUNSHINE STATE OF MIND in 2021 (which American Songwriter called “some of the best modern country put to tape.”) including a sold-out run of shows and back-to-back residencies at Tribe Kelley Surf Post in Grayton Beach, FL.

First known as the “Florida” half of Florida Georgia Line, the ACM Breakout Artist of the Decade Award recipients garnered 19 #1 hits and became the first and only act to achieve two RIAA DIAMOND singles in Country music history (“Cruise” and “Meant to Be" with Bebe Rexha). FGL notched 17 billion+ global streams, sold more than 40 million+ tracks and 4.8 million albums worldwide, plus performed to over 4 million fans on tour.

Underwood, who is performing in Hamilton for the first time since 2016, has won over 100 major awards, including 8 GRAMMY© Awards, and sold more than 85 million records worldwide, recorded 28 #1 singles (14 of which she co-wrote) and is the most awarded female country artist for singles in RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) history. She has seven albums that are certified Multi-Platinum or Platinum by the RIAA to date, all while selling out arena tours across North America and the UK. Her Denim & Rhinestones (Deluxe Edition) is out now and her REFLECTION: The Las Vegas Residency has been extended into 2024.

The Built in the Hammer Grey Cup Music Festival will run from November 16-19 and feature both free and ticketed events with different programming each night including Thursday night at OLG Stage in Niagara Falls, Friday night headlined by Carrie Underwood at FirstOntario Centre, Saturday night at FirstOntario Centre and Sunday’s Neighbourhood Block Party before the 110th Grey Cup game at Tim Hortons Field. Fan Central on James Street will feature more than 40 Canadian bands performing Thursday-Saturday and is curated by ‘SuperCrawl’, Hamilton’s famous arts and indie music festival.
