Make the Most of Saturday at Grey Cup Festival

And just like that, it’s time to close out the 2022 Grey Cup Festival in style.

Saturday is the final day to experience all the free activities inside Mosaic Village and at the NexGen Energy Street Festival.

It’s also a day to cheer loudly for the CFL’s cheer teams and the top esports athletes who’ll be competing for $50,000!

Here’s how to Make the Most of Saturday at the festival:

 

Cheer Extravaganza!

1:00-3:00 p.m. | Indoors | Brandt Centre | TICKETED, Sat. ONLY

Enjoy a two-hour family-friendly showcase featuring many of the CFL’s cheer teams and Saskatchewan performance acts all in one place!

The 2022 Cheer Extravaganza lineup boasts more than 20 performances– including Ukrainian dancing, baton twirling and hoop dancing. Tickets are $20 and still available online. The event is rush seating and fans are advised to arrive early.

Also,, for the first-time ever, meet your favourite performers after the show for an exclusive meet-and-greet from 3:00-3:30 p.m.!

Path to Glory Tournament

4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. | Indoors | Mosaic Village: Brandt Centre | FREE, FINAL DAY

From more than 200 to the top 64 – Day 2 of the Path to Glory tournament picks up Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.. The top 16 athletes will each take home a slice of the $50,000 prize pool – the largest purse in Canadian esports history.

At around 8 p.m., watch the Top 8 go head-to-head in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate to win the $15,000 grand prize.

In-house commentary will be provided for those stopping by to watch the big screen at the Brandt Centre, along with a professional live stream on Twitch.tv

 

Canadian Gala

6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. | Indoors | Queensbury Convention Centre | Tickets Available

Enjoy a family-style sit-down meal where the menu has been designed to take you across our great country, but leaves you feeling like you’re in the comfort of your neighbour’s backyard!

Multi-platinum selling and Juno Award winning country group The Road Hammers will get the crowd pumped up for some hometown fun in the heartland.

You can dress up or dress down, but be ready to hit the dance floor! Tickets to the 2022 Canadiana Gala presented by ISC are still available online.

 

Team Party Rooms

Noon.-1:00 a.m. | Indoors | TICKETED, 19+ | FINAL DAY

This is your last chance to take in the electric atmosphere of the 2022 Team Party Rooms!

Eight CFL teams plus the Atlantic Schooners have been welcoming fans all week to their six themed rooms which, with the exception of Riderville, are all located inside the Cooperators Centre.

Riderville presented by COORS will close out Saturday where it kicked off the entire festival Wednesday: inside the Viterra International Trade Centre.

All Team Party Rooms are 19+ only.  If you don’t already have a Team Party Pass, single day passes are available for $50. Each room is subject to capacity limits, and access is not guaranteed.

Allow notifications on the Grey Cup app for updates on wait times in lines and which rooms have capacity to walk right in!

 

NexGen Energy Street Festival

This is your last chance to try the giant SaskPower Tube Slide and check out the other great offerings at the outdoor NexGen Energy Street Festival!

Kickstart your day once again with a free pancake breakfast courtesy of the Calgary Grey Cup Committee from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Confederation Park.

And if you haven’t witnessed the largest drone show in Canada, get the best view from the park at 9:00 p.m., weather permitting.

 

Harvard Media Community Stage
Varying Hours | Outdoors: Confederation Park | FREE, FINAL DAY

Confederation Park is also the site of the Harvard Media Community Stage, a free concert series featuring prairie performers that wraps up Saturday night.

The final lineup includes High Steppin’ Daddy (11:00 a.m.-12:45 p.m.), Brody & Miguel + School of Rock House Band (1:00-1:45 p.m.), The Illusionary Magic of Sitruc James (2:00-2:30 p.m.), The WON’Ts (3:00-3:45 p.m.), Blue Beach Band (4:10-4:55 p.m.), Nick Faye & The Deputies (5:10-5:30 p.m. and 7:25-7:55 p.m.), W3APONS (5:40-6:30 p.m.), The Hourhand (6:35-7:15 p.m.) and New Kids On Your Mom (8:10-8:55 p.m.).

 

SaskPower Family Fair & Huddle in the Heartland

11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. | Indoors | Mosaic Village: Affinity Plex | FREE, FINAL DAY

If you’ve thought about trying one of the six inflatable obstacle courses – go for it! This free, all-ages space will get you moving inside the Affinity Plex. A reminder that no outdoor shoes will be allowed on the inflatables. Shoe shelves are available at the venue.

For children 5 and 12,  Huddle in the Heartland presented by SaskLotteries is a great way to learn all about Canadian football!

Football Saskatchewan leads this interactive programming to help young people grow their game skills and knowledge. From accuracy throwing to kicking, running and more, this is a hands-on, fun experience!

Gainer’s Heartland presented by Tourism Saskatchewan

11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. | Indoors | Mosaic Village: Ag Ex Building | FREE, FINAL DAY

Families can make one last visit to Gainer’s Heartland Saturday to try local food vendors and let the kids enjoy face painting, hair braiding, a bouncy castle and more. Gainer and some of his mascot friends will even make appearances!

In partnership with Wanuskewin Heritage Park, Gainer’s Heartland presented by Tourism Saskatchewan also offers families a chance to explore the province’s Indigenous roots.

Saturday will be your last chance to snap a 2022 Grey Cup Festival pic at the Tourism Saskatchewan photo booth, and take home a FREE festival scarf while daily supplies last.

 

Digital Zone presented by SaskTel

Families, sports fans and tech gurus can unite for a final time Saturday at the free Digital Zone presented by SaskTel.

This lively, interactive area features video games, sports experiences and interactive technology.

If you haven’t already – Pose with the Pros at a virtual photo booth, battle it out against friends or fellow fans in the ultimate video game challenge and take part in a virtual field goal kicking competition. It’s a fun, interactive way to get your game on!
