Here’s how to Make the Most of Thursday at the festival, starting with one-day only events:
11:00 a.m.-9 p.m. | Indoors | Mosaic Village: Brandt Centre | FREE, Thurs ONLY
Local crews will battle at the esports showcase Thursday to demonstrate what high-level video game competition is all about!
The free demonstration takes place inside the Brandt Centre from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for people to come and go as they please.
This event also tees up the Path to Glory tournament – a Grey Cup Festival first – which gets underway Friday with 256 esports athletes facing off in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.
2022 CFL Awards hosted by Kate Beirness
6:00-9:00 p.m. | Conexus Arts Centre | TICKETED, Thurs ONLY
The 2022 CFL Awards hosted by CFL on TSN’s Kate Beirness will take place off the festival site at Conexus Arts Centre Thursday night.
Fans can rub shoulders with Canadian football royalty as coaches, players and more are recognized for their outstanding achievements this year.
Tickets are still available for the 2022 CFL Awards. Red carpet arrivals and the pre-show reception opens at 6 p.m., with the awards at 7 p.m.
Team Party Rooms
4:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. | Indoors | TICKETED, 19+
Riderville and The Atlantic Schooners are launching their themed Team Party Rooms at the Grey Cup Festival site today!
With the exception of Riderville presented by COORS, all Team Party Rooms are located in the Cooperators Centre. Riderville will take over the Viterra International Trade Centre.
A $104 Team Party Pass covers the cost of admission to all six rooms at REAL District each night they are open. Ages are 19+ only. Single day Team Party Passes are also available for $50/day.
Each room is subject to capacity limits, and access is not guaranteed. Allow notifications on the Grey Cup app for updates on wait times in lines and which rooms have capacity to walk right in!
NexGen Energy Street Festival
11:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m. | Outdoors | FREE
Bundle up and enjoy the giant outdoor playground that is the NexGen Energy Street Festival!
This free, family-friendly event covers a large section of the Evraz Place parking lot and Confederation Park. It opens Thursday at 11:00 a.m. and yes, the massive SaskPower Tube Slide is totally part of it!
The largest drone show ever in Canada will lift off at 9 p.m., weather permitting, Thursday through Saturday as part of the street festival.
Harvard Media Community Stage
Varying Hours | Outdoors: Confederation Park | FREE
The Harvard Media Community Stage is a free concert series in Confederation Park featuring Saskatchewan performers and Harvard Media emcees.
The free, family-friendly space is part of the NexGen Energy Street Festival, with live acts throughout the day.
Thursday’s lineup includes J.J. Voss (noon-12:45 p.m.), ADEOLUWA (4:10-4:45 p.m.), Karissa Hoffart (5:10-5:55 p.m.), Justin LaBrash & True North (6:10-6:55 p.m.) and Teagan Littlechief (7:10-8:55 p.m.).
SaskPower Family Fair & Huddle in the Heartland
11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. | Indoors | Mosaic Village: Affinity Plex | FREE
This is a sure-fire way to get you warmed up! The free, all-ages SaskPower Family Fair features six giant inflatable obstacle courses inside the Affinity Plex.
A reminder that no outdoor shoes will be allowed on the inflatables. Shoe shelves are available at the venue.
Huddle in the Heartland presented by SaskLotteries is hosted by Football Saskatchewan and an extension of the family fair. From throwing, kicking, running and more, this hands-on experience is designed to get kids moving without long lines or wait times.
Gainer’s Heartland presented by Tourism Saskatchewan
11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. | Indoors | Mosaic Village: Ag Ex Building | FREE
This free indoor area is great for families to relax, try local food vendors and let the kids enjoy face painting, hair braiding, a bouncy castle and more.
Gainer and some of his mascot friends will make appearances at Gainer’s Heartland presented by Tourism Saskatchewan There’s also a soft play area for toddlers and a private nursing area.
It is also the place to capture a 2022 Grey Cup Festival photo – and grab a FREE festival scarf – at the Tourism Saskatchewan photo booth.
In partnership with Wanuskewin Heritage Park, Gainer’s Heartland is offering a chance for people to explore a tipi and learn about Indigenous artifacts.
Digital Zone presented by SaskTel
11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. | Mosaic Village: Viterra International Trade Centre | FREE
This family-friendly area offers a diverse sampling of cool tech to try for free – from gaming, to virtual reality and 3D printing!
The Digital Zone presented by SaskTel is located inside the Viterra International Trade Centre, part of Mosaic Village, and open for the same hours on Friday and Saturday.
