In the three days leading up to the 103rd Grey Cup Championship game, the energy and excitement in Winnipeg will be at an all-time high thanks to the Manitoba Craft Beer Concert Series. On Friday night at the RBC Convention Centre in downtown Winnipeg, music lovers, football fans and proud Winnipeggers alike will celebrate the Grey Cup spirit by watching some of the best musical talent our nation has to offer. The Sheepdogs, The Trews, and special guests Attica Riots will take to the stage in this rock 'n' roll night of the 3-day Manitoba Craft Beer Concert Series.
The Saskatoon-bred “boogie” rockers The Sheepdogs have risen steadily in popularity since forming in 2006. After a number of independent releases, the band graced the cover of Rolling Stone in 2011 by winning the publication’s “Choose The Cover” competition, becoming the first unsigned act ever to do so. During the competition, the band appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and performed at both Bonnaroo Music Festival and Osheaga Festival. In 2012, the group won three Juno Awards: Rock Album of the Year, Best New Group and Single of the Year. Don’t miss your chance to see these prairie boys light it up.
Judging by the boldness of their choices, you’d never guess the Trews are 10 years, five studio albums and thousands of gigs into their highly celebrated career. 2014 saw the release of their electrifying new album The Trews. It tallies so many firsts that even the band cop to being a smidge flabbergasted by their own achievements, 16 TOP 10 Canadian radio singles (including two #1’s) notwithstanding.
Formed from the remnants of two long-running and well-known Winnipeg rock outfits, Attica Riots deliver an impactful shot of sonic urgency through a seamless synergy of rock-solid musicianship and sharp lyricism. Doors open at 7:30 pm. Tickets now available at Ticketmaster. All listed ticket prices do not include GST or Ticketmaster service fees. General Admission, 18+.Get Tickets
