EXPERIENCE THE ENERGY

For 107 years it has been Canada’s greatest game, but in 1948 a passionate group of Calgarians boarded a train to Toronto to see their beloved Stampeders win their first Grey Cup – and in the process, forever changed the festivities…

Complete with a dozen horses and a chuckwagon, the more than 250 western dressed fans danced, paraded, celebrated and served up pancakes, turning the Grey Cup into Canada’s greatest party, now officially known as the Grey Cup Festival.

And today, the tradition continues . . .

We boldly match that spirit by introducing our 2019 Grey Cup Festival logo. Pulling from our proud past with a modern take, this year’s logo incorporates some of the everyday beauty that Calgarians enjoy:

• Our famous skyline, a city fueled by the energy of its people…

• The majestic “Three Sisters” mountain range, an iconic symbol of the Canadian Rockies…

• A maple leaf adorned with CFL laces, a hat tip to our great game…

• And a typeface that pays proper tribute to our Western Heritage…

Perhaps even more important than the look, is what the logo represents: a team, a community, a nation – coming together for a party like no other, on the grounds of the world famous Calgary Stampede.

The 2019 Grey Cup Festival presented by Shaw, runs November 20th through 24th, culminating in the 107th Grey Cup at McMahon Stadium.

Welcome to Calgary – Experience the Energy!
